Heidi Kim, Graduate Level Clinical Intern (she/her)
I help children and teens find their strengths and learn how to feel confident managing anxious thoughts and high stress.
How I work
I am passionate about helping children and teens navigate the complex emotions and unique
challenges they face. I believe that providing a safe, non-judgmental space is essential for
encouraging them to express themselves openly. In this supportive environment, we work
together to develop the tools they need to overcome obstacles, strengthen self-esteem, and spark meaningful change. My approach is rooted in empathy and dedication to making a positive impact, and my goal is to foster growth and empowerment by ensuring every child and teen feels heard, supported, and valued. One thing you may hear me say in session is “If we don’t take the time to understand our feelings, they may pop up in ways we don't expect it”.
My Education & Trainings
I am currently enrolled at Boston College pursuing a Master’s of Social Work with a clinical mental health concentration. Before this, I completed my undergraduate degree at Stony Brook University. My volunteer experience as a Suicide Hotline Counselor and my previous role as a Community Health Worker have taught me the immense value of human connection. I have been inspired by the vulnerability and remarkable resilience of the people I’ve served, which has deepened my understanding for empathy and compassion. I am eager to walk alongside children and teens on their journeys of healing and growth, helping them uncover their strengths, nurture self-compassion, and build the confidence to tackle their day-to-day stressors.
The relationship with your therapist is a large part of your success. Here’s more about me!
I love exploring new places and am always on a mission to discover delicious food along the way. A form of entertainment and relaxation for me is watching all kinds of tv shows and movies, from documentaries to horror movies. I sometimes struggle to muster the courage to watch horror movies; so instead, I often satisfy my craving by reading plot summaries, which give me the thrill without the terror. I am also a big animal lover and hope to adopt multiple pets in the future. My social media is often flooded with animal videos, so opening it always triggers an instant reaction of oohs and ahs. I love to dance, albeit not very well, because it brings me so much happiness. Working out and going for walks is also a great mood booster, and I try my best to incorporate them in my daily life. Last but not least, forming genuine and meaningful connections is something I treasure.
Working With Me
I offer sessions both virtually and out of the Wellesley, MA office. I am available for sessions Mondays and Tuesdays, during early afternoon and evening hours. Individual 50-minute sessions are offered at a rate of $220. I also support our Low Fee Program.
