Low Fee Therapy Program
Our graduate level student counseling interns who make up this program are supervised not only by their graduate level professors, but also by the CFE Management Team - who provide at minimum 3 hours of additional weekly consultation and supervision. These counseling interns are trained and supervised to provide individual or group therapy sessions to individuals and families seeking support and in need of reduced rates. You can feel confident that you will be receiving the same level of excellent care that our specialists at The Center for Family Empowerment are known for.
Low-Fee Program: Is This the Right Fit for Your Child/Family?
Our low-fee program is a wonderful option for families seeking support at a reduced cost while working with closely supervised graduate-level clinicians. Because this program is time-limited, it’s designed for specific types of needs.
Use the checklist below to help determine if this is the best fit.
This Program May Be a Good Fit If:
My child is experiencing mild to moderate challenges (e.g., anxiety, school stress, social concerns, emotional regulation)
My child is generally safe and stable
Our family can consistently attend scheduled appointments
We are comfortable working with a graduate intern therapist under supervision
We understand that:
The program is time-limited (most of our interns are with us for about 10 months)
Our child may need to transition to a new therapist if longer-term care is needed
We are open to a collaborative, family-involved approach
This Program May NOT Be the Best Fit If:
My child has current significant safety concerns
My child requires intensive or long-term therapy
We are involved in a high-conflict divorce or custody situation
Therapy is court-ordered or involves legal proceedings
My child is experiencing significant behavioral challenges that require specialized or intensive support
We are unable to commit to consistent sessions
We are not comfortable with the possibility of transitioning therapists after the intern’s placement ends
A Gentle Note for Families
If you’re unsure, we’re here to help. Choosing the right level of care matters, and we want your child to receive the support that best meets their needs.
If the low-fee program isn’t the best fit, we’re happy to help guide you toward appropriate resources or alternative services.
